Your ERP.
Your servers.
Your Kontor.
We build an ERP around the way your company actually works — on open-source ERPNext — and install it on infrastructure you control. First version live in two weeks. No licence fees, no lock-in, and none of your data on our machines.

01 — Why switch
Most ERP projects rent you software. We hand you the keys.
| Line item | The usual way | Ownkontor |
|---|---|---|
| Licences | Paid per user, every month, for as long as you use it | None. ERPNext is open source (GPLv3) |
| Where data lives | The vendor's cloud, in the vendor's region | Your servers or your cloud account, in the country you pick |
| Timeline | Months of workshops before anything runs | A working system in 14 days, extended in two-week steps |
| Fit | You change your processes to suit the software | We shape the software to suit your processes |
| Leaving | Export fees, proprietary formats, notice periods | Nothing to leave. It is already yours |
02 — How it works
Fourteen working days, from first call to go-live.
Larger projects go live in the same two weeks with their core, then grow in fixed two-week increments you approve one at a time.
Day 1–2
Discovery
We map how orders, stock, money and people move through your company today.
Day 3–6
Configure & build
Modules, workflows, approvals, reports and your own invoice and delivery-note layouts.
Day 7–9
Migrate & test
Customers, items, suppliers and opening balances moved over and checked with your team.
Day 10–12
Deploy & train
Installed on your infrastructure. Hands-on training in English or German.
Day 13–14
Go-live & handover
You run live. We hand over admin access and documentation, then close ours.
03 — Data & security
We are not a SaaS. That is the point.
Your ERP runs where you decide: a cloud account in your name, a European hosting provider, or a server in your own building. Nothing is routed through us.
- A.Access is granted by you, limited in time, and logged.
- B.A data processing agreement (GDPR Art. 28) for every project.
- C.Backups go to storage you own, in the region you choose.
- D.On handover, our access is removed. You can audit that.

07 — Questions
Asked before every project.
Is two weeks realistic for a whole ERP?
For the core of a small or mid-sized company, yes: ERPNext already covers accounting, stock, buying and selling, so we configure rather than write from scratch. Larger scopes go live with their core in two weeks and add the rest in two-week releases.
What is ERPNext, and who stands behind it?
ERPNext is an open-source ERP developed by Frappe Technologies and a global community, in use since 2008. Ownkontor is an independent implementation partner and is not affiliated with Frappe.
Does it handle German and EU accounting?
Charts of accounts such as SKR03/SKR04, VAT rules and DATEV export are set up during the build. We confirm the exact requirements for your country in the discovery call.
What happens if we stop working with you?
Nothing changes. The system, code and data are on your infrastructure, and any ERPNext partner or your own IT team can take over.
Which hosting do you recommend?
Whatever your IT policy allows. For most clients a European provider such as Hetzner or OVH, or an AWS or Google Cloud account in an EU region, is enough. We set it up in your name.
08 — About
A Kontor was the merchant's counting house — where goods, money and records were kept in order. We build the modern version, and leave it in your hands.
